This fall marks the fourth year of our in-class education programming, and we are looking forward to once again connecting with students in Essex County and beyond. Our in-class presentations use local examples to cover many topics that are found in the Ontario science curriculum, including the needs of living things, biodiversity and ecosystems, species at risk, and environmental stewardship. Students will also learn about our migration monitoring program, as well as other projects studying species at risk and breeding birds on Pelee Island.
This year, in addition to our in-class programs, we are excited to offer a video-conferencing program to classes near and far! All that is required to participate is a computer with internet access and a webcam. During the video-conferences, students will get to interact with PIBO biologists as they band birds live from Pelee Island.
See our new education brochure for more details about all of our educational programs here.
Classes may take part in one or both programs this fall, though video-conferencing is only available during a two-week period in early October. For more details or to book a PIBO education program for your class, please contact PIBO Education Coordinator Michelle Bondy at .
