PIBO is launching a new initiative to address the problem of light pollution and window collisions in the city of Windsor. Called Lights Out Windsor!, the project will distribute 200 FeatherFriendly window-tape kits to small businesses that pledge to reduce light pollution by turning off their store lights at night. Reducing light pollution is one of the biggest threats to migrating birds – an estimated 1 billion birds a year are killed by flying into lighted windows – and is one of many things we all can do to help save birds.

Lights Out Windsor! is made possible by a grant from Nature Canada. The project gets underway on May 14, as part of our contribution to World Migratory Bird Day. For details, contact
