Pelee Island Bird Observatory is excited to announce the addition of our new multi-lingual educator, Fatima Serhan! Fatima is a Windsor Native that is looking forward to using her language skills and her degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Windsor to make the PIBO education program more accessible to French and Arabic speaking students in our community.
Fatima comes to PIBO with some great experiences working in the bioacoustics lab at the University of Windsor.  She will be translating many of our materials and lessons, as well as delivering our hands-on lessons in both Arabic and French. Our program is free to schools across the region. Fatima is most excited to get to work on passing on her knowledge, and the work of PIBO to others, and to give students who do not have English as their first language the equal opportunity to learn about birds. We cannot wait for her to begin!

If you know of a classroom that is either French or Arabic speaking or immersion, we would love to connect with them so they can experience PIBO’s award-winning program.

This new program has been sponsored by Lush Cosmetics.
