Pelee Island Tour with Ron Tiessen
Item to benefit the Pelee Island Heritage Centre
An Island Tour, with Ron Tiessen, Pelee resident since 1979 and founding curator of the Pelee Island Heritage Centre. Ron is a long-time community leader, winner of a Carolinian Canada Conservation Award, and a well-known raconteur. The four to five-hour tour, conducted on bicycles and by car, will introduce participants to the island’s human and natural history, local stories – some more believable than others – and lively accounts of island archaeology, architecture, viticulture, and agriculture. Plus a selection of Ron’s books and guides about Pelee Island history and culture. Limited to four persons, date to be arranged with the winning bidder (but not before August 15).
