Mi’kmaw Basket, by Susie Marshall. Susie Marshall is a Mi’kmaw elder living in Eskoni First Nation, on Cape Breton Island, N.S. She has been weaving Mi’kmaw baskets since she was a child. Traditionally, black or white ash baskets were used to convey goods from winter to summer camps. This one was presented to Graeme when he received his honorary doctorate from Cape Breton University.
