Global Bird Rescue

During the peak of bird fall migration in North America, an estimated 4 billion birds will navigate built environments as they travel southward to their wintering grounds. Millions of birds will not arrive at their destination due to a fatal collision with a building. You can help ensure these birds survive their journey! Join us for Global Bird Rescue (GBR) from September 27 to October 3, 2021, an annual event hosted by FLAP Canada designed to raise awareness about bird-building collisions and to inspire home and workplace bird-safe retrofits across the globe.

 Skill Level: All skill levels.

When: September 27 to October 3, 2021.

How: Participants are encouraged to search their communities for bird collisions and document these encounters either as an individual or as part of a team that goes out to look for birds. A team allows multiple users to submit collision reports under the same team name. This allows the team to easily sort and see their data. Other ways you can participate include making your home, cottage or work windows bird-safe, or helping us spread the word.

 To register as an individual:

Use the Global Bird Collision Mapper BirdSafe | Global Bird Collision Mapper (birdmapper.org)

To register as a team:
